Columbus Ohio Photographer – Shooting in the snow

The weather has been crazy here in Ohio, like crazy cold. Just when we thought spring had finally arrived, we got hit with another day of snow. As much as I hate the cold and snow I decided to make the best of it and get some shots of my cute daughter in the snow.

I would have liked to have gone to some cute location to snap these pics but the light was dying quick so we just stepped outside our house into our street. But I think it is good to capture pictures of your everyday places, too, not just some pretty landscape.

The snow was coming down pretty hard so I protected my camera by putting it into a gallon Ziploc bag. I cut a hole in it so my lens could stick out. Sometimes the bag slipped and covered up part of the lens. You can see the result in the next picture. See the filmy edges? But I decided I liked the mood it created.

I love the way the snow looks on her hair and lashes. But I will not miss the snow a bit and I am getting excited to get out and take some family portraits out in the beautiful Ohio sun.
